Competition hunt/coil?

Never hunted comp hunts with the Exp. II before but would choose the eight inch and learn to pinpoint fast with it. Many don't even pinpoint, when a target is located, they pull up on the grass and look for the slit where the target was inserted. Sometimes they will stick another metal in the hole ontop of the coin.

Learn how to change freq. fast if someone comes near to upset your machine. Stay far away from anyone using a PI.

PI machines are not allowed and it will be held on the sand at Daytona beach, The EX 2 is a multi. frequency and has a noise cancel but it takes 25 seconds to change . I have hunted close to people with whites and Fishers and have had no interference however my machine would drive the DFX nuts I guess the 8 is the best as I won't have to pinpoint-just scoop as the DD will give me the line and I can get the whole thing at one shot.
Thanks for the info

The 8" is a good compromise. Some hunts put a limit on coil size. Too big a coil and you'll wear yourself out quicker trying to swing fast and reverse directions. One gentleman I know uses an XLT and Bigfoot coil combo and always does real well.

Good luck and let us know how you did. HH!
