Its been a busy month for me and haven't been out detecting as much as usual. These relics were found from three different locations and each hunt was about 2 hours. Went out with a friend and hit up a freshly cut corn field today and found my third Spanish silver,:hello2: a 1756 1 reale. At the same moment about 30ft away my friend pulls out what looks like a Spanish cob or hammered:BangHead:. She has had a good year so far. We have found 2 Spanish cobs in the past at this location. At another site we have visited many times I dug a few civil war buttons. Civil war General Service cuff and coat buttons and a Confederate Block I button. At the last site I did more talking with the homeowner than actual detecting. This house was built in 1799 and the new homeowner was doing major renovations. The property was full of construction debris and tall grass but I managed a few keepers. Ended up with a token, 3 civilian buttons, buckle, glass marble and a ceramic mini person. I have not been able to find any info on the token. Thanks for looking GL&HH

Those buttons are awesome! We don't often find them in that good of shape. They will display beautifully.

HH, RN

Thanks relic nut. We normally don't find them in good shape as well. I seem to find them in corn fields and the fertilizers and plow destroys the buttons. These three were found in a front yard at the bottom of a steep hill. The 2 general service buttons pictured are the best dug examples in my collection by far. The confederate Block I was a crazy surprise.

If I ever had a day like this I would literally pass out. Congratulations on killing it!!

Thank you Truth1253. It will come. Research and location is the key with a slow swing. I'm just lucky enough to walk over it.

UPDATE:
The hammered coin found by my partner, literally 30ft from my Spanish 1 reale was identified. This is amazing, Spanish 1/4 reale cob ruler Enrique Henry IV 1454-1474. The specialist that inspected the coin said it looks to have fire damage so the details are hard to see. Ill try to get pics or she will make her own thread.

Keep in mind this was found in Maryland, not in Euro. I don't hear of hammered coins that often around these parts.

Thank you hbru123.

I found a Thomas Jamison in Aberdeen, Md. He was born in 1866 and died in 1944. He was a farmer so the idea of a picker's check makes sense.

Thank you fyrffytr1. Makes perfect sense. Ill check records and see if he may have owned the house I was at. That's cool thanks

Some great finds there!

Big congrats on an awesome set of finds.

The I button is really something special.

Very well played sir.

Thank you Carolina Tom. I was soo excited when I found the block I. I don't come across much confederate relics. This is my second variety of the Block I. It was found at the most unlikely location as well.

Your token:

PS: It's an oyster token.
Don.......

Thank you Don!! I had a hard time at first trying to identify it. Thank you for the ID. My next outing at that property I will give it to the homeowner. He is a history nerd like I and would love to have something like that.

Congrats on the great finds you have. Spanish silver is always great to see. Still on my bucket list.
