Confederate SCRIPT I...1600's Latten Spoon
Hey guys,
Hit quite a few different sites this week and hence the finds stretch from the 1600s to 1853. Among the highlights were a few interesting flat buttons: one large tomac, a 28mm copper, and a split mold 4 hole pewter...first one of its kind that I have dug. From my 4 Reale Cob site came an additional surprise, a damaged but stable 1600s era laden spoon. Ahab's banner is a much better example, but still an interesting dig.

I rounded the week off with Gheenoe78 at our 1812/CW honey-hole and it certainly did not disappoint. The site produced a few flat buttons and an out of place French 1853 5 CENTIMES. No clue how it ended up at the artillery camp, but coins do travel. My favorite find of the day was also my first confederate button- a script I cuff with intact backing. There is some condition issues around the I but its amazing it survived the harsh salt conditions for so long. All I can clearly make out on the reverse is "RICH".

Thanks for looking
