I am a kid and I still sleep with my blanket that I have had since I was 2 years old.(And my old hamster from the past chewed holes in it ,and he died last year.) :tongue3:

shiloh_f2hunter,

not from my past, but my kids past.

Still have their old hamster; been dead about 23 years now;
was white at one time; starting to fall apart; but the smell went away
after 3 years; put it in a roll ball and push it around the kitchen floor;

For some reason I liked that hamster.

all have a good un.....

Do you mean those ones on a string?

My favorite childhood toys were the green army guys and the 3 1/2" G.I. Joe figures. I still have most of mine. Ever since my son was born, I've bought bags and bags of the green guys and their accessories, as well as G.I. Joes and their accessories. In another year or two he will be old enough to play with them (and be responsible enough not to lose all of the pieces), and I will have tons of fun playing with them, too.

BTW...my grandparents used to have a racetrack a lot like that one at their house. I think it belonged to my uncle. I can remember when I was little my dad and I playing with it.

That would be them. I have some hanging on the wall here but I am not too sure I want to try them.

Yup , Those are the ones ! I had several in the mid-70's , The they banned them - some would shatter . You got some nice ones there ! Hang on to them - they are actually worth $

I'm not much for playing with toys from the past. Probably my most used toys today are my computer and detectors. I have a blast making funny DVD video/movies of our family gatherings and posting on the various forums.

To me those old toys of the past are art. Instead of flat oil paintings I perfer a shelf or display case with the toys I can relate to from my childhood.

Down in our basement I have a vintage 1952 New York Central Hudson Lionel train setup (0 gauge model 2056). I chose the 52 Hudson because that was my wife's birth year and the model 2056 was only made in 1952. The whole thing is not really to play with but to look at. The train is there mostly to give the layout action. The layout itself is the important thing.

My goal is to reproduce all the homes and special places from my life in 0 gauge scale. The layout when complete will be an art form of my life. I like to mount a mini camera into the steam loco and see the layout from that vantage point.

Now THAT is Cool!

That is a very cool idea. If I wasn’t out detecting all the time I might do something like that.

Thru my years I have learned that the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train.
But I have adapted.
