Tnet,
Let me first start my thread off by saying, it has been a rough past few days. On Friday, I got a call from my girlfriend, Stacia, at about 4 a.m. (she spent the night at her mother's house that night) and it consisted of her telling me that her father had just passed away. This bit of news was totally shocking, since he was young (57). So, over the past days, I have been trying to be at her side. She has been spending a lot of time with "his" side of the family and proceeding through the grieving process. I will deeply miss Brent for all of his good traits and kind heart.
Since she was spending time with her family, about 2.5 hours away, she told me that I could go out detecting today. I told her last night, "Stacia, I don't have to go out." But, she insisted that I get out.
This hobby is definitely a stress reliever, so I needed to partake in it for awhile.

Today, Colonial Silver Zeus, Colonial Zoyboy, and I decided to head out for two new sites that we had just obtained permission to hunt. We were going to focus on one of the sites all day and give it a try. It was a beautiful day for treasure hunting and I was glad to be sweeping my coil for a little bit today.
About 15 minutes into the hunt, I got a solid "P" on "Penny" hit that pinpointed at 2.5". I plucked the soil out and was welcomed with a GREEN disc!
I yelled over to Zeus, "Coppa!" It turned out to be a 1787 Connecticut coppa (Bust facing left)! In the picture, look closely and you will see the bust of the gentleman.
We all commenced in the "clubbing" scene!
This site was going to be GREAT!
In this same area, I got a nice "Nickel" reading and out popped this crude-looking Colonial spoon.
After this relic, I proceeded to dig TWO crotal bells in about 30 minutes!
I was on a roll, baby!
I was sweeping along at this new site, when I was startled with another "P" on "Penny" hit. At 3.5", I popped out this heavily corroded Two-Cent piece! This is my 3rd! Even though it ain't Colonial, I will still take it.
This day was turning out be a true winner. Oh, I also dug a nice ornate wilver picture frame, or part of one.
We ended the day with some detecting talk and headed our separate ways.
This new site was a thrill to hunt and should produce some more in the future!
My mind was finally cleansed...Colonial KirkPA strikes again!
:P

Keep the passion high!
