Do you use any different type of headphone during the summer? Maybe the lighter foam type? Any suggestions?

Yes Garrett has 2 types of light head phones as do other companys & Kellyco also sells light weight head phones.............

I wear earbuds that wrap around your ear. The only time that they aren't effective is if it is extremely windy and I'm detecting next to the interstate.

I sell Detector pro, Sun Ray headphones. The treasure ears are light weight and inexpensive for summer use. (Detector-pro)
The rattler is a headphone built by Detector pro which is designed with one speaker to allow for Rattlesnake alarms. That would be a good summer phone as well
