coolest rock I found when I was 8 years old

I don't think I will ever find another 1 like this. I picked this up while trout fishing with my father in a small mountain stream in vermont. it has gone everywhere with me. always on a nightstand somewhere. just thought this would be the right place to show some folks who might appreciate it. I have no idea on the type of stone. if I were to take a wild guess I would probably say some type of basalt.

Looks like a piece of sandstone. Don't know the weight and doesn't matter. It is an ultra cool find...
