Copper artifacts in Oregon?

I was wondering if anyone has ever found any copper artifacts in Oregon. I have hunted arrow heads for years in the Willamette Valley and have never found anything copper. I did read once about a body that was buried with a copper sheet that was removed from an Indian mound along the Callapooya River. I thought about taking my metal detector out and searching a mound I know of. Ill let ya know.
