copper button

Found this today.

Any one seen anything like it?

The metal detector picked it up as copper but after i examined with a 10x microscope i saw hints of brass or gold.

I found it near the Neuse river and HWY 401 in NC.

I Found mine at Camp Security Park in York PA . This park was a revolutionary war prison camp.

It's a modern (20th century) "blazer" button or fashion button, patterned on an Italian Navy button (center design).

Looks like this one made by the Waterbury Button Co.
