Hey all , I found this thing the other day which kind of resembles a spanish copper cob and wanted some input from the experts in the field . It measure's 1 inch , it weighs 7.4 grams it is solid copper or bronze with a punch mark on one side and what appears to be marking on the inside of the punch mark but cant make it out , on the opposite side clear evedence of being laid on something and struck and it has been hammered all around the outside . It was found within 10 feet of a 1761 spanish reale and the depth was at 8 inches it was bright green coming out of the hole . And good input is welcome . Thanks in advance .

All cobs are silver, so I am not sure what it is.

Not a cob. Looks like the remains of a button.

I found something like that before at an old homesite - never got an iD on it but I thought maybe it was the head of a large tack of some sort....

They are a type of copper-alloy/bronze nail, handmade.
