Copper disc

Hello all. Dug this 1 inch copper disc today. It was badly folded. It is one inch wide by 1/32 of an inch thick. It is made of copper. It has a lot of backbone for a thin piece, Any ideas? Thanks, Arty

Metal cap from the top of the cork from a champagne bottle? Indentations either side could be where the wire went to hold the cork in?
