Copper, silver,nickel & ww2 German coin...

I had a fun first land dig after the snow and ice and the conditions were perfect. No frozen ground whatsoever. Not sure what inland would be like but it was great close to the ocean. I hit a old property that I found a cartwheel penny and other old finds before. This time I tried a section closer to the house. It was mostly 1940โ€™s era finds but I did get a Nova Scotia one penny token and a 1861 Nova Scotia one cent. Also got some silver coins and a weird surprise coin. It is a 1940 nazi Germany coin. I know they are not rare but gotta be to find around here. Thanks for looking! [emoji16][emoji106]

Years ago I found a zinc nazi German era coin in near perfect shape. Put it a 2x2 coin flip and stuck it my album. A while later was looking at my finds and noticed the German coin looked kind of blurry so open it up to find the coin had turned completely to dust.

This one appears to be brass. I guess up to 1940 they were made of brass and in zinc every year after that. Iโ€™m not sure if some were made in 1940 in brass and others in zinc. Think they needed brass for the war effort so they discontinued them in that metal. Iโ€™m no expert so correct me if Iโ€™m wrong! [emoji16][emoji106]

You got the coins jumping from the ground!
Nice to see detecting time is getting closer for us since you're making holes down your way.
Get to those grown up spots first this year and see what you missed last season now that the grass is down.
