Cortes and Deleon - Thinking about getting one of them . . .

I have a deleon and love it. I am thinking still of a Cortes only because of the back light. Wish you the best what ever you decide.

The way I found to get around the backlight was either a nice headlight or a flexible necked led light secured to the control box with a couple of cable ties. That works great and it costs less than $5.00 if you have a dollar store around with the flex light it will cost you a little over a buck!

Try it out shanegalang

I agree with Me use a head lamp, It serves as light for checking meters, settings, holes, and it does not take power away from your detector, so your batteries last longer and the detector not trying to decide how much power goes where.

I appretiate the ideas, but I feel the cortes using its back light would be less conspicuous, I have an L.E.D light that clips on the brim of my hat. Really wish the Tesoro would have made a backlight available on the deleon as I like the idea that the I.d screen has bigger text. Even if it were an extra cost for that choice, to have it or not. (backlight).
