One of these days, you're going to have to put everything out on a table and give us a y-t-d tally. You never have a bad week, my friend! Not knowing you 'back story' (I guess I could hunt through your threads...) but you clearly live/walk fields in an area once populated heavily- do you know the history? I for one would love to hear what you know! HH- Yakker
You can hunt a cotton field a long time but eventually the cotton will get so high you won't be able to look it. The plants are maybe a half inch high now.
You Suck! Just teasing you of course. Dang you find more points than anyone I have ever seen. Took me 2 days just to find one this week. Nice finds as usual "King"
Fortunately for me, a lot of the land I look is planted in truck crops - green beans, watermelons, cucumbers, yellow squash, and zucchini squash. When they plant truck crops they bottom plow and your chance of finding whole or relatively whole points improves. I still find tons of broken points that I usually don't post.
So they dont use a disc on the fields then? The way they do it here is. Plant, harvest, cover crop, weed killer, plow and then disc the cover crop back into it. Then plant again. They used clover as a cover crop this yr which was 8 inches tall before they sprayed it. There should be some good ones waiting for me in the winter I hope.
Amazing as always. I have a small frame from your area I have wanted to show you. They are not as spectacular as yours but are special to me. I do know that you know the history in your area very well. I have enjoyed reading it or at least close to it. I have seen a moister collection come from just one 200 acre field. I know that you hunt many fields.
Have a good one.
