Some nice finds the past couple of days. And there sure is an extreme difference in the condition of those two buff's u found yesterday lol. It sure has been slim pickens for me lately but I should have a couple of half boxes to p/u the next couple of days so maybe I can find a little something before the week is through.

Yeah its great to be finding things even if its just a little bit. Keeps you going for the next box

1 Box Brinks Halves- Skunk

Hi cougar 729.. I just want to pass on dome information with regards to you search for silver halves. If you are buying the boxes from a bank, there is a good chance the Brinksmanship, Loomis, Garda, Dunbar or another armored carrier is picking up the deposits, rolling them and delivering them back to the bank. In other work the reason you are getting skunked is because you may be getting the same halves over and over. Ask you bank if the are a local bank or one that trades direct with the Federal Reserve. I worked for an armored service ( which one needs to remain anonymous) and we had an elderly lady the bought 2 boxed ($500 / box) every week. We picked up the $1000 each week (she was skunked) re-rolled, re-boxed and returned them to the bank if the recorded to replenish their inventory. Banks the work directly with the Fed have a better chance to have new coins recircleded into their inventory. Just trying to be helpful to those looking for silver. Please feel free to pass on the info or let me know if you like more info.

Thanks for the info. I work several banks for pick ups and drop offs, they use different services. I'm sure I see some of the same coins at some point, but I regularly find silver so I'm not too worried about it.

Well being on the plus side is what is most important and having fun with a great hobby. Enjoy the hunt.

Now we are cooking. I'm hoping with all the collectors finding silver, the price will go up..

I'd say finding both a war nickel and a dated buffalo in one nickel box is a very good box. I searched a total of $170 in nickels last week and didn't find any buffs and the only war nic I found was near the end of the very last roll I searched so that sure was a nice surprise. :)

Great find! All you guy really make me want to start nickels! HH

My come back luck continues to roll on.

Brinks Dime Box

1- 1961 Roosevelt
1- 1941 Mercury (first ever Merc!)

Brinks Nickel Box

1- 1942 P
1- 1943 P
1- foreign penny- ender

Very happy about first mercury dime. My dime box came in mwr clear plastic and upon opening immediately saw the Roosevelt silver and then the next row gave up the mercury. My experience with finding silver dimes is spotty so I'm happy with my recent luck. Nickels have been consistent for me so I'll stick with them.

Found some silver for Tax day.

2 rolls of halves from one bank produced 1 40%

30 dime rolls from another bank produced 1 1960-D Roosevelt and a 1968 Canadian dime. Apparently the 1968 Canadian dimes were minted in a couple of different compositions, one of them being no silver, the way to determine is by weight or magnet, since I don't have a scale handy I used a magnet, it stuck so it's the non silver version

Your getting some really good boxes lately. And finding some silver on tax day helps make up a little of what the tax man takes away. :)
