I remember an anime in which there was a constant war.
The Japanese often used anime to tackle serious issues. Anyway, one child said the only way to stop the war was to kill everyone. We seem to have forgotten the purpose of an army is to kill people and break things until the will of the enemy is broken.
Which is why we get bogged down for decades in wars which should be settled in a week.

The OPs' question, did cause remembrance of a funny story, an old lady at a bar, told me & one of my friends, once...

"The hubby loved her meatloaf, but he was pretty cantankerous & gave her issuance at everything.
well, one evening she had about enough, so when he demanded she make him a meat loaf, she obliged as was the norm.
She did divulge one secret, though.
She told us the main ingredient was "Skippy dog food"!"

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA, me & her (my friend, both of us half crocked) never laughed so hard on our lives.

She said, "Yep, I made his meatloaf with Skippy dog food! He said it was the BEST meatloaf, he EVER had!"

Bwahahahahaha, that was over 30 yrs ago, and we still laugh and tease about whether,
we'll need to break out the "Skippy dog food" for supper....

I think it may have brought Peace to that old ladys' household, for a time....
