3 hours at Druid Hill today in Baltimore City at same area as Monday and got the nickel trifecta today, along with 4 IHCs, porcelain button, ladies Seiko watch, and an arc lamp electrode.
My absent-mindedness struck again. I had arranged the coins and the button on my truck bed side panel to snap a quick pic and then proceeded to drive away, with them still there. About a quarter-mile down the road, it dawned on my feeble brain. I pulled over and all were still there but for the V-nickel; it had fallen in the bed. Tell me I'm not the only one whose done this.....ok, maybe I am.

LOL! Glad you got to keep your coins. I've yet to pull that stunt but definitely misplaced things temporarily or sent finds through the wash in my pockets.

Thanks for your story, washingtonian. ....and now, for my next trick...

The war nickel still has mint luster. Grats on the finds and not losing them.

Thanks xr7ator. The war nick and buff were in the same hole and actually dropped on top one another. That's why the green on the '44P and why the date was preserved on the buff.

Great mix of finds- Congrats! You're not the only one, nuff said!

Jeff, I'm 67 but I know I can do better.

Congrats on the Trifecta and other great finds !

Awesome old coin shooting! :occasion14:

Hey McD... great finds and congrats on the nickel trifecta, but don’t feel unique! I do stupid crap like that all the time! Ha... don’t even get me started on all the stuff that I’ve tried very hard to fold, spindle or mutilate. Or lose. Druid Park still treating you good! Ddf.

Nice job on the Nickel trifecta McCdig. Cant say that I can compare anything to your story. Worst thing I can remember, is getting out to my detecting spot and remembering that I left my shovel back at the truck. It was a Half mile walk back to get it, and another Half mile walk back to my spot. Oh well, the exercise was good !

That park is a honey hole for you. Many times Ive left my pinpointer at the last hole Ive dug and a few times it took me over an hour to luckily find it Great job on the coins and that watch is pretty nice too

Thanks, Tommy. For the longest time I never tethered my pinpointer. Once I lost one outright becaause I left it on the truck bumper and drove off. Another time I dropped it and had a dickens of a time finding it amongst the fallen leaves. Now my pinpointer stays attached to my Garrett pouch.

Thanks, Trezurehunter. I've one that with the Garrett pouch, rushing off to detect only to remember once at the spot that the pouch and pinpointer are back at the truck. Oh well, most of the time it works just fine and I get to the spot with everything I need.

Thanks, ddf! Yes, the old park still has some goodies to cough up. It's becoming a fun challenge to see what I can tease out from amongst the pull tabs.

Thanks, Professor. The quality of the IHCs from this part of the park are quite good. There are not many 'easy' signals as in days gone by, so I have to work a little harder.

I finally got one also lol

Thanks, E-Trac-Ohio. Order of nickels found went V, then war nickle, then Buff.

Thanks, calabash digger! I like leaving the park with more coins than I came in with.
