Could it be Roman?

Hi Guys,
Been searching in a new field - come across a few coins that are too far gone for any patterns or description but this one still has outline of head and letter 'S'.
Thought it was William IV or George III Halfpenny at first (same size) but this is thicker and head stands out and the large letter?
Here's a pic:



and another emphasizing the portrait and the last of the remaining letters:



Could this be my first Roman? Vespasian maybe

I knew you'd have the answer Crusader (not the answer I wanted though - I'd have preferred the 'S' to be of 'Vespasian' not 'Georgius III') Thanks for the ID -

Someone was "Romin" around in that field and lost it ......

ha ha ha ...

This is what we used to say when I was in Spain and we found something we couldn't ID...
It was always Roman....
So to speak...

I believe you will, but sadly its likely to be a scrappy like I find most of the time. But its more about getting your first & finding the right area. Where there 1 theres 100.

On this side of the pond, we're happy to find a 200 yr old coin. They must get in the way over there, when you're trying to find 500-800 yr old coins. LOL.
