Could this be a Native American artifact?

I found this 3” x 3” piece in the river, south central PA. Just curious if those who have much more experience than me think it could be a piece of Native American pottery. Certainly would appreciate any help.

No-the temper is wrong. It would normally be filled with grit , shell or other material as the temper. This looks like slate perhaps….

It certainly does look like those lines were incised all the way around that piece of stone? Not familiar with something like this being natural.

That is what led me to ask about this piece. They seem to be mirrored front and back.

Maybe someone local to your area might chime in. I know Mother Nature can do some weird things and also we all tend to see what we want to see. I’m leaning to it being a natural mud stone, but I will be watching for someone with more experience giving an opinion.

By the stone looking layered I’d say it wasn’t used by humans. They liked solid stones
