This piece seems to be quartzite. I'm halfway down the coast of florida. my first thought was cool little thumbnail scraper. the wide edge is very thin and sharp but the narrow end comes to a sturdy little sharp point. that just doesn't make sense to be holding that end. maybe that end was hafted? I have pinellas points that are sharp and serrated all the way around. what do you all think?

I agree just that one is different from what I typically see at that site. I don't think the photo shows the small thinning flakes. Probably a thumbnail scraper but most at that site look like this 1 I found 2 days ago

I guess it was because the pointed end seemed very simetrical to be random.

I get flints around here too

maybe a scraper that was never finished or they were in need of a scraper and quickly made it for a one time use? Just a thought.

it looks like a broke scraper...it's not a point
that is a nice gun flint...i found one kinda like it about 15 years ago.......then i lost it

Dangit

Looks like a broken hafted scraper, maybe, I have a few similar pieces. Still a cool find, great material. Thanks for the view.

Yea.. either way I'm happy to see that material at this site.
