Counterfeit Coin Value??

Is any aware of the value of early American counterfeits? More specifically early silver counterfeits? I have looked long and hard through the web and haven't found any info regarding this subject. Thanks..

Exactly what type of coin are you talking about? I've never seen much interest in counterfeits for anything into the 1800s. That's not to say it doesn't exist, I just don't see it.

Yes i know a few collectors who actually will pay more for an of the period counterfeit seated dime than for the real thing.Ive seen a couple over the years,they are not uncommen.

Well it could be, but most that are very close (if it is) don't really get any special attention over the genuine issues. There's so many of each they're not looked at as being much different. Once you get into the counterfeits that have some different things about them it gets more interesting. (for rarity and value)
