Awesome find there Don.:hello2: You've made a lot of great finds over the years. Always impressive. Congrats on your first counterstamped silver!!

That's a counter stamp ?
Cool, Keep @ it and HH !!

Neat find Don, I don't have any counterstamped silver. I'm trying to make out what that stamp is, but I can't quite figure it out.

Steve, I am also, not even sure which way is up, down, whatever...

Are you sure it is not a defaced real? Doesn't look like any sort of counterstamp to me, but maybe someone just intentionally damaged the coin. Nice find either way--hope you can ID it.

Very nice indeed. Congrats!

Man that's killer there.never seen one like that before. Thanks for sharing.

Great find!! Definitely uncommon. Incredible save!

That one could be a bit of a challenge, but a better find with than without even if you never ID it.

Really nice Don:icon_thumright:

Yes it's a real, I can see lettering from Hispani...
The question is what stamp it is??
Really nice find, congrats

Nice Don. I have never found a silver with a counterstamp, but have had several LC's and also a couple CFT. 1/2 pennies. I believe I actually gave one to a C-4 member 2 years ago. Congrats and hope ya figure it out. Hogge

Don that is cool with the counter stamp on it. Like everyone said it is a hard one to figure out. If you do figure out which is up and down can you let us know with a pic. It would be cool to ID. CONGRATS!!!

Very cool and interesting piece!

Don,
What is the diameter (mm) and weight (g)?
If you turn the right side image 180 degrees, the number "4" appears; perhaps the last year of the date.
If it's Mexican, it predates about 1822, during the War of Independence when the last reference to "Hispan" was used.
Don........
