Couple of nice finds...

Been going to the same area for about a week now and hunt for maybe an hour or so per day. I keep finding neat items but no silver until today. Good looking '42 Merc along with a navy button. Not sure about the navy button era so if anyone has additional info on it that would be a bonus for me. I think I'll also post on "What is it". Thanks all, HH

nice finds!...congrats on the silver!... is there a shank or any markings on the back of that button? I found one similar a while back but had a modern back that was rusted out. good hunt there!
