Found this today up in carefree Arizona. Looked interesting and was really dense and heavy for its size. It has a black crust on it and some weird black crystals in it aswell. The small pieces are just from a small piece of it. I still have almost the whole thing to break down. What do you guys think

Can't see it real good but looks it might be gold.

looks real good ,peacock ore maybe? AZ .. where theres copper theres sometimes gold ,where theres gold theres sometimes copper.cool find.

Granite, magnetite, and hornblende. The black crust is desert varnish. My guess anyway.. :)

. It looks like it was in a highbrow thermal vein
And that is a very good area for gold to form as it could be leached out of se rounding host rock . Hard to tell from pix . I do fire assay's when I find something that makes me ask questions of such . May be something or may not .

Pretty rock.

It's Chalcopyrite with a little Bornite. That mine is owned by a friend of mine. I've been familiar with that ore since 1980. It does contain some gold values but that small of a piece isn't going to net you much, if any, gold.

jair is right, it's a rich hydrothermal deposit. The cap is mostly missing off the gossan but the structure is still evident.
