it was my lucky day though

Must have been really hard for him to almost give his stuff away. Times are tough and no end in sight especially with the clowns we voted for doing nothing to fix things. I feel sorry for the guy.

amen to that .. economy is getting worse and worse. the values this country was built on are down the shitter. hard drug use is at an all time high. and everyone just sits back and keeps praising our anti american muslim terrorist president.

real americans that are not afraid to fight and die are few and far between. people are brainwashed.

Hey Man...in My eyes you helped him out....Plus he would have had a good handfull of people try to talk him down to 300...lol...Thats one thign that gets on my nerves about Craiglist....I will put down " 100 dollars FIRM" then get some jackwagon asking " Will you take 20" :laughing7:

You did good and helped the guy at the same time cmbohio.

Yep, I can relate. Just a word to the caution is all. There was someone on here who posted about being held up and having all his stuff stolen. He had heartbreak too.

Did he happen to have any finds for sale? Would seem he would if he was getting out of the hobby due to money problems.

:dontknow:

I only know what I experience. We have been working overtime for 2 years and we have hired 4 new people. Guess the furniture business is ok.

$500.00 in Gold Rings at a few schools would be easy pickens with that machine. Shame. I'd sell finds before I'd sell my machine. Apparently he never utilized the machine to the fullest of it's ability.

Excellent score.

i am a professional tattoo artist. and an aspiring glass blower. with the economy the way it is, luxuries like tattoos just dont pay the bills like they used to. gotta work double time to make the same pay as 10 years ago.

in a few places things may be better, but not everywhere. 33 years in construction and now in unplanned forced retirement from it.
adapt improvise and overcome, but it has bin a challenge.

Always ask at least $20-$50 more than you will take and let them talk you down. Let the customer "win".. Never put 'firm', it deters buyers

i would have gave him more if i had it . steal of a deal

That was the first thing that came to my mind too. AT Pro is at least $500 used all by itself. Then $100 for the propointer. The 250 should be at least $200. That's $800 before all the rest of the stuff.

Hopefully it was just a really good deal!

I know from being "forced". Look at it this way. If you can make retirement work and you can collect anything in the way of pension, SS, whatever. You're now getting PAID to go metal detecting! LOL

HH!

We've been documenting out national debt since WWII so from then till 2008 we incurred 10 trillion in debt. In the past 4.5 years ahem someone has incurred 7 trillion. So it took 70 years to make 10 t worth of debt and only 4.5 years to do 7 t almost the same amount that its taken 70 years. Help me out here my calculator works in decimals not dummies but how can a group or a person say we are doing ok or things are turning for the better. Things are bad and people like this poor guy who had to give up on doing what we all love just to pay bills makes me sad and mad. I don't know about the rest of you but its tough on my end and I sure as hell didn't vote for Mr. Change and transparency.
A metal detector is small compared to what most people are losing but the detector is what we all relate to here. I'd like to help ppl like that but were all in the same boat so we would be just handing the paddle back and forth while the boat spins out of control down s*#t creek.
