Creek gave up a good one today. Looks like a Pickwick to me. Made my day considering I've only found maybe a half dozen points here in 40 years. Of course, I was always looking for bottles so no telling what I walked over. Live and learn.

Killer find love those pickwicks!

I'd call it a Newnan that's been resharpen a lot. He did a good job keeping it uniform too. Nice point.

It does have the stem of one for sure. I just didn't think they were found this far north, but that would be cool with me. Then again, that would blow the hell out of my thread title. Dammit, Bow! :BangHead:

Beautiful find. Congrats, but I'm jealous.

Nice find .... Is that Georgia water nice and warm ? Still a brisk 45 degrees up here

Water's a bit nippy. Still wearing the waders.

Nice one......and a Clear clean creek

nice looking point

Spring fed it looks to me cause its so clear. Most creeks here are spring fed and still very cold. Sure is a nice looking point great add for the 2017 frame.

I'm going with you on it being a pickwick.... And a LOOKER at that!!! congratz..

Newnans are found in GA but they usually look a little different, like a regional variant. Yours has a classic Newnan base and the base is what you mostly use when typing a point. The overall shape changes so much with resharpening, it can lead you astray. The base never changes as it's covered by hafting. That point was much wider at one point. Looking at the craftsmanship and assuming the owner liked symmetry, it would almost certainly be a Newnan.

Very nice! A promising looking start to '17. Congrats & hh.

I had to come back and have another look at that one. Its one of the best ones posted this year imo as a personal find. I dont find many whole ones that size. Really like the color to.
