I bet whoever threw it out was because their girlfriend didn't like it..... But Congrats. surely you can find someone interested in it...

I'd hang it in the Kitchen

Yeah. I can just imagine that home-scene: "I don't know what happened to that painting. It must be in the attic or wherever you put it".

We had one on our front "sun-room" entry when I was a kid that creeped out a lot of folks . . . including me.

It was a copy of this famous one, but some family aunt had done it with a lot more veins and really wild eyes. My Mom hated it. Somehow it got damaged when we moved.

Sell it to a goth kid

Offer to sell it back to the artist; she is still around:

Don...
Looks like she passed in 2009.
Elizabeth “Betty” Yates Ensign, 86, of Winston-Salem, N.C. and formerly of Nantucket, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009. A funeral service was held Aug. 29 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Nantucket.

I'm betting it is the same person as this one- https://www.nantucketarts.org/ensign-betty.html since it mentions Nantucket. The style is similar too.

There once was a lady artist from Nantucket who painted creepy paintings then chucked it

I would list it as Walking Dead Zombie Dog America Folk Art.

Coincidently, I picked this bronze Dog today who could have been the model for the painting.

She Saw it - It is now in the back of my truck - at least I have a Cap .

That one would make a perfect present...........for my mother in law.:laughing7:

Sell it on line, easy money$$$$$

I'll try putting on Craigs List Tomorrow - she seems to be a local artist . maybe I'll get some hits .

List on eBay as creepy/weird/outsider original oil painting - there is a market for them. This is one of the rare things I would start at a dollar + reasonable shipping, since it has no hard value but is likely to ignite some sort of bidding war if you rope them in with dollar start.

add 1 word "Haunted" :laughing7:

I think this would do good on ebay myself, as ugly as it is. People love creepy stuff.

yeah its creppy . you know someone wants it..

I once tried to sell something Mike Zohn. He had a weird, collectible, reality TV show for four years called Oddities. He is in Manhatten, NY

Here is some info.

Evan or Ryan might also answer the phone

When i first saw your photos this is the guy i thought of as the artist. I once owned one of his prints Cadaques. But that was decades ago before the expense of a wife and child.

Super creepy! Maybe keep everyone away if you're looking to do that. Yikes!

Were you trying to spell Creepy or Crappy? Either way, it's both. 8-)
