I found this today!!! I have found a few key tags from the old hotels around here but this one is my favorite! Maybe it was used to tag baggage! I sure love the local history around here. The bullet holes is priceless! They say the building is haunted! The other relics are from previous hunts! Hope you all are out finding treasure! The Palace picture was taken from Google. I like the bullet hole too. Gives the piece some character.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Really nice find from the 1890's. I wonder if a wild west legend shot the tag for practice?

Thanks for the posts! They were sure a good shot, didn't mess up the lettering. It was definitely a much bigger sport back then!

Yeah, that bullet hole through the center really makes that piece extra cool. Nice find.

Very cool hotel tag!

Thanks for the posts! I am still leaning on it being a luggage tag, with 34 number. I guessed they used the tags also to go back and forth with luggage to the train stations. It would be nice if it could talk. Sometimes I wonder if some people would be interested in metephisical stuff, if we could retrieve the item without touching it. Just a little side thought for some of these incredible items. I'd almost swear this little tag has been calling me for years.

Nothing like a little good ol' fashion target practice ! I like that bullet hole in the tag.

Very cool luggage tag. I haven't found any yet but it makes me think of that song by The Band" like others have said the bullet hole improves it in my eyes giving it even more wild west flavor and that fact that the building is still there is amazing. I hope it is haunted! That makes the story even better!

That tag is awesome I would treasure that

Thanks for the posts, I used to gamble at the Palace when it was a Casino. Some of the workers would talk of strange things going on. It is an iconic building in the town and I am sure happy with the tag. Hope your shovel from finds something good!

Very cool relic from a famous mining town. I took a drive up to Cripple Creek once from Colorado Springs back in the 80's - 1980s not 1880s :laughing7:

Awesome tag up thar! Grats!!!

Thanks Steve, the area has changed quite a bit with the mine and casinos. Whoever shot that would get a kick how excited I was when I found it. I'll drop a few coins here and there sometimes, hoping I make someone's day in the future!

Awesome tag up thar! Grats!!!

Thanks xr7, it would be nice to see a Brown Palace or Broadmoor hotel tag pop out of the ground. Hotel tags are awesome, especially local ones. I like the big key tags with the names on them.

That is one killer relic from Cripple creek!
The bullet hole only adds to it!
Kudos,
Carl

I have found plenty of tags in the Creek & Victor ,,, but not one from the Palace . Congrats !!!! Great piece !! Can’t wait to see it in person

That's an awesome piece of history & the bullet hole gives it more awesomeness, the spread of relics look pretty cool too, congrats & HH
