Nice photograph! Thanks for sharing...

If you're lookin west that's the Collegiate Range.

Yep, looking west I am, wasn't so sure it wasn't the Mosquito range. That be South Park in between me and that Collegiate mountain range far away. You see nothing but Pikes Peak looking east from from where I was standing. The photo doesn't hold a candle to the actual site seen with your own eyes.

I think this photo would make a great jigsaw puzzle.

It's almost a straight shot west from Cripple Creek to Nathrop, which is on the east side of the Collegiate Range. The Mosquito Range would be closer but a little farther north, south of the Ten Mile Range and just west of Alma and Fairplay. And I can vouch for the fact the pic is no comparison to the actual view. We can take excellent pics of individual mountains but when you shoot a range at distance, it never comes out the way you see it up here. Without even bein there I can tell you that in tamrock's pic the sky was bluer, the mountains were more defined, and they were bigger to the eye, but it just doesn't come out that way in the pic. Pics taken early in the mornin come out a little more like what you see in real life.
