CRISPINS CRITTERS

I had a black 1981 I think, trans Am with a Blue Eagle. I had her in 1983. I loved that car. I washed her daily. Well when I could. Not many Blue Birds back then.......but she had the worst body work. She fell apart. I'd love to have that car again. Had what they called a "shaker scoop" the scoop was attached to the engine not the hood. So as the engine shook and vibrated with power you could see that in the scoop. Oh well she was fun until my daughter came...... Had to get rid of the car become a dad ! Lol

Folks,

For the veterans on the forum and those who support them including me I thought you'd get a kick out of this they were quite the fighting unit during WW11 top notch Canadian unit which were hooked up with a bunch of US army rowdies and given some of the toughest assignments during the war.

Busy day!

Tackled the light in the room off of the garage....

What a cluster .......up!

I'm going to get the porcelain "keyless" fixture working and no more.
And, as you can see, I'm gonna try to make chicken salad out of chicken....

And, I have no idea which breaker holds any of this load.

So, we're "LIVE!"

I slowly start to remove the porcelain fixture and halfway through removing it, I say to myself,
"Self, this fixture aint wired up."

I thought this because it was "floppy" as I removed the first screw.
If it was wired, there would be stiff movement from the wires being attached.

Sure enough, it wasn't wired.
Must have been installed as a junction box cover? :icon_scratch:

2-IMG_1003.JPG

OK.
Now then,

Find the wires that will give me power, and find the wires that run to the switch.

Found them!

Now, let's look at the switch....
I loosen the first screw....

4-IMG_1006.JPG

"Oh, My!"
That will never do!

Do you know why?

I replace the switch and provide a plate cover and...
30 minutes from when I started.....

3-IMG_1004.JPG

Now then,

"How 'bout this yardwork I been hearin' about?"

"It's a done thing, Dog!"

Best,

Scott

I'm such a "stickler," for Details, aren't I?

I've performed electrical work by code for the last 30 some years. Maybe longer...

When I was a Level 3 Maintenance Technician at the University of Kansas Medical Center, I would have to sometimes change out overhead fluorescent fixture ballasts. In adjacent operating rooms....
Where a procedure was being performed......
Live.

And the current was live also......
277 VAC!

In operating room garb.

(Including the little "booties.")

On a ladder. (A VERY TALL ladder!)

816iTYBiEqL._SX355_.jpg

If I make a mistake, it could cause a breaker shutdown of electricity and cause a disaster in the adjacent operating room. Not to mention my safety.....

So, who was the 'go to' guy?

Yep.

I've wired entire houses and laid the wires for many a breaker box.
I've done commercial work, requiring up to 3" emt pipes and fittings.
Don't forget about "Shield-Flex." And "Romex!

Why did I stop being an electrician?

The story involves a mortuary.

Draw your own conclusions....

Best,

Scott

"Obviously, you haven't been paying attention. Hit it, Cypress Hill!"

Best,

Mortuary story?

Nah. Nobody cares.
Folks are tired of Scott's stories.

Give it up, Scott, OK?

To keep it simple. Let's remember tomorrow's walk among tombstones and among heroes. God bless everyone.

I'm just trying to be a father,
Raise a daughter and a son,
Be a lover to their mother,
Everything to everyone.
Up and at 'em bright and early,
I'm all business in my suit,
Yeah,I'm dressed up for success,
From my head down to my boots.
I don't do it for money
There's bills that I can't pay.
I don't do it for the glory,
I just do it anyway.
Providing for our future's my responsibility,
Yeah I'm real good under pressure,
Being all that I can be.

And I can't call in sick on Mondays
When the weekends been too strong,
I just work straight through the holidays,
And sometimes all night long.
You can bet that I stand ready
When the wolf growls at the door,
Hey, I'm solid, hey I'm steady,
Hey I'm true down to the core.

And I will always do my duty,
No matter what the price,
I've counted up the cost,
I know the sacrifice.
Oh, and I don't want to die for you,
But if dyin's asked of me,
I'll bear that cross with honor,
'Cause freedom don't come free.

I'm an American soldier, an American,
Beside my brothers and my sisters
I will proudly take a stand,
When liberty's in jeopardy
I will always do what's right,
I'm out here on the front lines,
So you can sleep in peace tonight.
American soldier, I'm an American,

American soldier,
An American

I'm just now finishing up. I did something different this year. Instead of laying in a puddle of depression and self pity. My 10 year old grandson and I have been up since dawn at the local National Military cemetery placing flags on grave sites. It's a feeling of something bigger than self pity. Sure the tears have fallen but that's because I care......am I maturing now? Growing out of my own shell? That's yet to be seen. But he's learned a valuable lesson today. What sacrifice for each other really is..... I thank you

Today has also brought about a tear or two to me.

You, Sir, are an example that should be shared.
Your sense of Patriotism, volunteerism, guiding and educating has won my humble affection. :notworthy:

Again I say,

"Well done, Soldier!" :icon_salut:

Best,

A quick story....

When my Uncle Bill, a Retired Army Captain died,
He had a "Military Burial."

An Honor Detail from Fort Leavenworth performed the Ceremony.

I nearly fainted!

One of the members were wearing insignia incorrectly!

After the service, I found the Commanding Officer and let him "have it."
Just as I knew that my Uncle would have done!

I then said that I hoped the soldier wouldn't be "gigged" too hard...
Just as my Uncle would have said.....

Best,

Scott

You are not forgotten, Uncle Bill...

My Birthday is one week from today.

Perhaps I should schedule a "check-up" at the VA.

Haven't had a Physical in a few years....

Wonder how long it will take to be seen?

I'm having minor issues that I probably better know about.
Though, I really don't want to know about....

Also, let's see about the procedures involved to be seen.

Last time that I had a physical, I couldn't just "sign-in" at the kiosk; I had to see a supervisor... :dontknow:

This time, if I have to see a Supervisor,
I'll get deeper than a tick on a Georgia coon hound!

Research, of course.....:laughing7:

Best,

Scott

Minor issues such as left pectoral fibrillation on a random basis....of varying intensity.

Yet,

Sometimes,

I feel as though I'm a man ALONE in the wilderness....

Until I reach my "Love," again!
The Wilderness!

(Before the costumes of stage performances...70's?)

"Somebody catch me, I think I'm gonna faint!"
Fabulous cinematography!
