Sorry I've been awol for some time but because the thread is so long and my computer is so old most times it freezes up when I try to call up this thread.

That said yes between various taxes and increases in the costs of living....I'm on a fixed retirement income and let's just say our cats are probably eating better than us....lol...

Blaine instead of continuing to work winters up north pull up stakes and do your construction work in the upscale retirement communities in Florida.....better weather and probably better pay as well....listen to "Uncle Bill".

Bill, I know your right. We are working towards pulling up stakes. The biggest obstacle is my wife. She is very close to her mother who lives just a couple miles away. it is looking more and more that her parents are going to be moving as well.

Good luck with the final move....we're pretty much in the same boat my wife's mother is 80 and still living alone in her home....her being an only child we pretty much have to stay close by in the event she needs help.

Such is life.

I've been very busy with work as my colleague has been in Europe for the last month and I've been running the entire department by myself. Not to mention the little one is practicing some mad Ninja climbing skills and has been keeping me very busy as well. Working 12 - 14 hour days and have been very burnt out as of late. Not to mention that this Winter has been a total wash for any outdoor activities that I usually partake in. I am hoping to be heading out ice fishing this coming weekend though...

I know how you feel. Sounds like my schedule. The only reason I can reply at all hours is because of my cell phone. Hopefully you get some free time for fishing this weekend.

sakes, why can't I catch a break lately? Been very stressed out and am getting close to going nuts... It was -33 here this morning and Spring is nowhere in sight. So much for my fishing trip this weekend and a chance to have some much needed time to myself!

Looks like we escaped the storm ourselves. It flurried here today but that's it. Last few days they have been dropping the amount we were supposed to get. We still got the wind though. I sure feel for you as I am right there with you on the giving nuts part. Let's hope this awful winter ends for all of us...
