Crossed $200 in clad for year...

Finally got out after a couple of bad hunts and crossed $200 in clad. Nothing spectacular, 2 hours 15 minutes of the dfx working on all cylinders!$3.99 on 52 coins. I did cross $200 in clad and finally broke my dry spell on old coins. I got a 46 nickel and a 44 wheatie. They are next to each other in the picture. Will cross 3000 coins for year next hunt.

Based on your post, and the manner you wrote it, it seemed as though you wished you were finding more oldies......How many oldies out of all that clad have you found?? Do you want to find older coins/silver coins Are you hunting in areas that have oldies? It's kinda shocking. I've been on another forum here in CA, and I haven't seen very many md'ers who had DFX's have very many silver coin/wheatie/IH posts. In fact, so many former DFX users have finally traded their detectors in for a minelab. But this is only if you're truly interested in finding more oldies at 6+".

Well actually I am happy with the dfx. I have heard way to many complaints about the minelad explorers!! You are right I am not finding enough silver coins but I am getting over 6.0 even with the small coin. I have been finding wheaties and older nickels but had a dry spell for a few weeks. The clad is always out there for me no problem. I have found 7 rings this year, pendants, bracelets, etc. But I am need to switch back to the stock coil and get a little more depth. My small coil is hitting up to 7.5....so I think I should be getting more silver! Maybe I just need to continue cleaning the layers of clad from the parks. Just seems like the clad comes back so fast in the areas I hunt. The only older place i went this year...a forest preserve I did hit 2 wheaties, but only 4 silver coins this year....that is my concern. But I just started making my own programs a few months ago. I am sure my dfx will pay for itself within a year and a half at the longest. Whites posted one of my son's finds and sent me an extra $200 in accessories. Also I had some interest in some of the jewelry I have found and sold a couple pieces for $70. So I am satisfied, I just might have to do a little research and find older spots, thanks though!
