Crossing one off the List...

[CRUSADER]

This field we had left in reserve. It was one we scouted last year because it was next to a Church. When scouting it Cru'dad got a Jetton, which to us tells us we are in hammered country, so it went on the list. Today we had 1 objective & that was to get 1 hammered from this area, & this was completed after 1 hours worth of gridding. Nothing much else turned up & because Cru'dad had to leave to pick up 2 of my returned Treasure items from the British Museum, he moved me to the failed oilseed rape field in the hope I would get some Roman Coins. I got only 1!
I did 6 hours & Cru'dad did 3.5 hrs.

Nice Penny and cool clasp! The lead ingot, is that just an ingot or was that the typical size/weight of ingots of an certain time?

I normally find cow pat ingots. No idea how to date this one, other than patina, so I'm think 19th C?

Interesting & rare but both incomplete; a Saxon Silver Clothes Fastener & a Saxon Silver Polyhedral Pin.
