Crusaderdad's first day of retirement. Spent the day starting the jobs he never had time for in the house
However, got out for a last go on the field we hit over the weekend.
Found 2 Roman scrappies
Early Medieval (possible Saxon) Lead Spindal Whorl. Possibly only our 5th & 3rd decorated type.
UPDATE ON ROMAN SILVER:
The broken silver roman I found yesterday seems to be an extremely rare unlisted & unpublished type(still might be valuable even in this state). Gunner & I are still fishing our contacts for an answer. This is what I agree so far with Gunner's help:
cica 4th century
Trier Mint - Germany
Constantinople's head on Obverse
X in wreath (could indicate a 10 year anniversary of ?)
What is strange & very unusual for a Roman Coin is no lengend on either side - so anonymous?
Gunner & I will update as soon as we get an answer, if there is one?
