Crusaderdad evening hunt

I'm resting after 7.5 hours yesterday, preparing for my hunt tomorrow morning before the forecast rain. So Dad went up to the Dump Field or Capbadge field as we normally call it. Its been graded down since we last went. He gave up pretty quick after one button & started on a new field next door.

The new field is massive but has potential;

1922 French? 10 Cent
Lead Token with JS
2 General Service Army buttons
One squashed - Colcester Corporation Tramways - Our first Tramway type

Star find a large lead button. Not like any I have seen. Its of Late Medieval construction but not in any of my books. Excellent condition as the plough normally knocks the loops off. 8) Sometimes just a button will do!

I will be out on Dump Field '2' which I discovered yesterday. With my Silver Sabre with a smaller coil to get in amounst the rubbish. I know I will get plenty of stuff but not much age to it.

Really nice finds. I love the history of Great Britian that dates back so many, many centuries with so many changes. Hope to visit some day, let alone a chance for a MD'ing hunt there.
