Crustiest Indian Head Ever-but it's an 1859

This weekend I was trying out my new 5"x8" coil on the AT Pro, poking around at a local little league park knowing I'd hit a lot of targets. I've hunted this area at least 10 times over the last couple of months. Of the 20 or so coins I dug I knew this one was special even before I cleaned it up, but man is it ever in nasty condition. After cleaning it I could barely make out the head dress, but the date came through fine even as worn as it is. Until this weekend my oldest Indian Head was an 1887-

Yes I can see it. Indians are always nice regardless of condition. Nice find:icon_thumright:


I agree, and especially when you can read the date. Wouldn't you love to know the stories that coin could tell!
