The silver was probably found in cudjos cavern and is now taken over by the park service. Along with the antique furnaces that they already have on display & my families home place that’s now a museum. Probably looking for something government owned long ago.

There is no silver in the Gap. It's a Karst formation, Karsts don't have silver mineralization. The mining there was for potassium nitrate (saltpeter).
