They appear to be small, but pictured beside a ruler would be a help. Were they found at the beach, a farm house, city park etc?

I cannot tell size either...
The piece on the left appears to be leather ... red rot leather.
This is what leather that is very old does... and buried etc.
Mostly in Native American Indians jewelry...
They used deer brain in the process of tanning etc...
This gives this appearance and will have a slight smell... but not a bad smell.

The piece on the right appears to be a hook.
Very old style.
Please post more info ... like material types and sizes etc.

The curled piece makes me think of being off a basketball hoop to hold the net.
