I just put these together for my next beach hunt. With the temperatures dipping and wind conditions, I figured it was time to ditch the banded ear buds and go for something more substantial. I put a dual gang pot and 150 Ohm speakers in one of my company's imported earmuffs. Not bad except the coiled cord is heavier than I thought and the pot has a slight dead spot. I noticed that most of the after-market metal detector headphones are just retrofitted hearing protectors (I've been in the business for a long while) - so I built one. They're light, they fold, have a NRR of 25 dB, and have very soft cushions. Has anyone tried this yet?

I like them, very clean looking. And a great NRR rating. I've Been doing Head Phones for the Excalibur for about 4 years now and the 25DB rating will be a big help when the wind is blowing, the kids are screaming and the waves are crashing....Good Job!!
