This one has me a bit baffled, found this in 2012 in a trash pit that was giving up quite a few early buttons, everything from there seemed 1700 - 1830ish, but I thought this was junk until a couple weeks ago. Recently started tumbling some finds and have been throwing in what would otherwise be junk, and a few items have cleaned up well.
This coin would have been about 26 MM in diameter, and all I can see is the two capital Is at the top next to the break and the strange symbol in the middle.
Any ideas?

Does the other side have even any hints of design?

Nothing on the other side is visible, which is why I originally though maybe a button. After the cleaning and seeing II along the edge along with no trace of a shank attachment I went with coin.

That's about the correct size of a French Jetton, and it appears you could have part of the flur de lis on the centre part of the crown.
