First time being cut off from dumping for me. Local chase bank said I couldn't bring in coins anymore. They have a coin machine and have never had an issue in the past but said it was a new policy. Other chase banks are still cool with it, so I hope it is not going to be a trend... though I think it will be.

They asked where I got the coins so I had told them Bank of America, I'm not one to lie. Not sure if they would let me keep dumping if I'd made up a story. Ah well always more banks out there.

Oh and I hadn't been to this bank in over a month, was dumping half dollars.

They have a coin machine, and you can no longer dump, and it's a new policy? Makes cents to me!

was it TD BANK?
TD didn't really cut me off but they made it clear that they're not happy with me dumping halves at their coin counters. said now they had a maximum of $300 (later changed to a max of $500) and that i can't do that more than once a week.
asked to speak to the manager, she was at a "conference call with the district manager and could not be disturbed".
they let me dump no more than a $1000 dollars (i had $1075 cause i dumped 2 boxes' worth plus almost 4 rolls NIFC that i was saving), they made me leave with $75 in change and wouldn't take them.
12 donuts i was going to give them went to the tellers at my order bank. they were more than happy to place an order for 6 boxes for me for next week.

Chase bank. Maybe I'll call them and ask a manager about the policy. It is not like I was dumping a ton there, 1K about once a month or less often.

Do you have an account there? Or are you just dumping coin using their machine?

I always tell the tellers I'm a coin collector and I don't seem to have any problems yet, hope it stays that way.

I do all my banking at chase, have a checking savings and credit card through them. My wife's small business has a business account through them. So they'd be losing a very good customer if I needed to leave.

They are flat-out LYING to you.
TD Bank's policy is take any and all coin that comes in the door to use the machines, period.
Call 1-800-937-2000. This the regional service number for that area. Tell them what happened and it WILL be taken care of.
Or you could stop in another branch and ask for the direct number to the regional supervisor(I think they're called REU's). If you do that, you'll probably be asked what the problem is and they will very likely get the REU on the horn right there and then for you.
