Back in Feb., Dman and I had good luck in a little known 1863 CSA Cavalry Camp. Dman made the post of our finds then and we vowed to return and locate the pickets. In March, we located the pickets and both of us nearly passed out when I unearthed an Eagle Breastplate. We were findinding Enfield bullets and .69cal musketballs-exactly what you expect from a TN CSA Camp. My total finds from that camp are pictured below with the exception of a few finds from today that Dman will post soon. This was Dman's day since he found an "I' Eagle button with full gold gilt and a holed 1853 half dime. I had found a GS eagle button in that camp on an earlier trip and a TNet member advised us that this is common since many CSA soldiers had brought them home from earlier military service. Digging was tough today since the ground is very dry. good Huntin' !!! Below & to the right of the plate is a Montreal token issued in the early 1800s. The only legible mark is "Au Sou". The token was not accepted after 1835. This one had 2 holes punched in it.
