Whoo hoo!

They let us out of work early today!

Now I am off to visit a friend who just bought a c.1850 house (and acre + yard) in Catlett, VA. He has been bugging me to bring the MD out there. I can't wait - my first chance of actually digging up something old!

Will post what I find this weekend as soon as the digital camera batteries are fully charged.

Well, I only had a couple of hours once I got out there.

What I found was that a lot of the yard was filled a couple of inches down with pieces of brick. Am going to have to research this specific site as I think there may have been a house there before as I know both the CSA and Union army did major damage to some houses in this area and wonder if this was one.

What the metal detector found was a couple of nails, a pull tab, a long metal pipe, and most of a cap gun.

I will be going back there next weekend for a more thorough look.

DeeDee, how big is the property, are we talking just a lot or acres? Find anymore yet? I am near there and know the area and there is great potential in that area. You lucked out with a great potential site
