Came upon these in a small cemetery by an old N.C. church. Thought you'd like to take a look.

Thanks for posting. There is some great history there. For being an older cemetery, the headstones look like they are in very good shape. Just an observation.

The church was built in 1853 and has been in use since then. The cemetery and grounds are well maintained.
Hey Gypsy, this is also the town where Kuykendell's "pot of gold" is supposedly hidden.
 

Were these photos taken in Mud Creek cemetery and if so did you see Captain Kuykendall's tombstone...suppose to be very tall....
 

No, they're in Flat Rock. I'll go over to the Mud Creek cemetery and see if I can find it. I believe it's the cemetery next to the Mud Creek baptist church.
