CWR Dimes

Got my first silver dime in a CWR roll. Did 3 boxes of MWR dimes and got zippy. Is anyones ratio dramatically better with CWR v. MWR dimes?

I've always done better with the CWR dimes but I used to score at least 1 or 2 on average with MWR boxes. The area I just moved to is extremely dry on silver. It really just depends if you get lucky. Some people have posted really nice scores with either style.

My best MWR box was 5 silver FDRs, but I have gotten plenty of shunks. I average 1 dime per $200-$300 in MWR

Today I picked up $100 in MWR on the way to my dump bank and found 2 fdrs!!

As far as CWR my average is very close to MWR. I don't think is really matters. If you get CWR turned in by a coin roll hunter or a MWR rolled from coin counter at someone's dump bank, you are going to get skunked.

What really counts is VOLUME.
Otherwise, if you want to increase your odds of finding silver, rob a coin store

Anyone have volume goals for dimes? Where I live I can get $250 in dimes daily. I am going to average 1 box a day.

I haven't hunted that many dimes but what I have searced it doesn't matter that much though I prefer machine wrapped you don't have to worry about them being short 99.9% of the time, like you do with customer rolls. As far as volume searching, I cannot comment on dimes but currently I am attempting to search a box of nickels a day for a solid year, I tried once before and got burnt out after 8 months. You can most likely get a box a day if you have a lot of banks in your area. I have a bunch and they keep extra nickels on hand for me. The dumping is the only drawback though dimes are easier(lighter) than nickels. Thanks and Good Luck. Dennis.

An update, I found a 1964 this morning and then a 1946 this afternoon. Ironic since silver Rosies were minted from 1946 - 1964. Good times!

Done dimes for several years. The same either way, I find about 1 per $100

Oddly enough, I've been doing much better with MWR lately. I'm encountering an increasing amount of waste in CWR dimes...including short rolls, Canadian, and pennies.

An update, I found a 1964 this morning and then a 1946 this afternoon. Ironic since silver Rosies were minted from 1946 - 1964. Good times!

I haven't searched many dimes myself and I just searched my box this weekend and I went through about half the box with no luck then I found a nice shinny "64. Then on the very next roll I pulled out a dirty edge coin to take a closer look and I saw a 7 & a 4 upside down and turned the coin a little to get a better focus on the date and sure enough it was a dirty looking 1947 - but it sure looked good to me. Then on the next roll I just happened to notice a 2009P (my second for the box). I wasn't date searching - I just happened to notice the two '09's by chance. Strangely enough a few rolls later I pulled out another dirty edge coin and it was a '74. So I figure 2 silver finds and a couple of '09's for the box isn't too bad. I think I might try to search a box or two of dimes a week and maybe the same with nickels and see how that goes.
