I'm wondering if there is a list of distillery numbers anywhere to go along with the D-(number) codes on the bottoms of liquor bottles. I was looking for a match to D 23 today and found it seems to be Hiram Walker in Peoria IL, but these numbers go up to triple digits with each one representing a different distillery. So I found myself looking for a complete list but couldn't find one. Anyone know if something like this exists? If not would you be interested in posting distillery codes for bottles that can be positively identified here? I'd like to compile a list if one doesn't exist

These aren't the codes Ken is asking about. From 1934 until (I think) 1964, liquor bottles in the US had to carry specific embossed coding information which included either a "D" number (for a distiller), an "R" number (for a rectifier), or an "I" number (for an importer). D-numbers were still in use after that, but I think the actual legislative requirements changed.

D-23 was indeed Hiram-Walker
