D. & RIO G. RY. Baggage Tag

My friend Joe and I were out hunting a site when he found this railroad tag. :icon_scratch: We knew the old railroad ran by on what is now the frontage road. This is on the road heading to Ouray Colorado. Any ideas? The top says something.... Chicago (mfg.) We have never been exposed to Railroadania before...... Anybody out there have a book with info.... :read2:
I would sure appreciate any info you can dig up. :icon_thumleft: Thanks!

It's not unusual for tags from the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad / Railway (1871-1921) to bring $250-350.

I believe Wilcox made most of their tags, so the mark above the slot is probably "W. W. WILCOX, CHICAGO"
or "W.W. WILCOX & CO., CHICAGO."

Nice Baggage tag from the D&RG. There was a narrow gauge D&RG railroad line from Montrose up to Ouray.
