✅ SOLVED Daguerreotypes? How old?

I found these loose in a family history box I was sorting. They appear to be daguerreotypes. I am doing family history research trying to figure out who these are, unsuccessfully so far.

I am 90% certain these are daguerreotypes because they are on copper. I would like confirmation, though. Are these daguerreotypes?

If they are, any idea how old they are?

Can someone help me out?

I’m sorry, I feel really stupid. The second picture of the toddler is not even on metal. I just confirmed that. So sorry.

The first picture, according to my research, is a tintype. I concluded this because it is magnetic. AI estimates it to be from the 1850s.

You can put a fairly narrow timeframe to the other picture of the toddler from the studio name and location. The studio was originally run by John Harrison and John F. Rabe under the name ‘Harrison & Rabe’ on North Main Street in Logan, Utah.

In 1910, Rabe took over the business and renamed it ‘The Rabe Studio’. Although Rabe stepped down from the business in 1913 and it was then “under new management”, the name remained unchanged, but they moved to Ogden, Utah in 1915.
