Damn that hurt!!

I was out hunting tonight and got bite by a horsefly that was bigger then any coin I ever found! It drew blood through a heavy knit shirt and left a blood stain one half inch wide.

Anything ever bite you? Any close calls?

I hate them persistant horseflies.

yeah Metman, I got bit by a soldier ant (same as jumping ant) After a couple of days I got sick and had to have 2 days off work and a needle. They grab you with their jaws then sting you. It hurts. About the same as a scorpion.

Old saying was if you got bit by a horsefly it usually meant rain was coming.

not 100% Sure what got me yesterday.

Yellow Jacket, Yellow Hornet, Or yellow Fly.
They were Tiny ( Maybe 3/8")
But packed a big Sting or Bite.
And they wouldn't let me finish
digging my hole. Had to come back later
after they stopped following me.

The swelling went down within an hour, but
Still have a Hole in my skin that
Itches.




What confuses me is I Mess with Bees, & Wasps
& their nests every chance I Get.
Never had them Swarm me & Land & Attack
with the Excepton of Stepping on a Ground Hornet
Nest once & They all Headed up my Pants Leg.

These little Guys Landed on my arms,
My Clothes,
Under the Brim of my Hat ...

jeff. Sometimes those little bites need to be treated with antihistamine. eg Zurtec Also if it is slow healing, I have found colloidal silver on the bite helps.
