Hit some old spots with the Equinox. I like this thing, picks through the trash. This spot was used for 50 years as a park-dance hall. It had been hit hard over the years. Found a couple of barbers, these barely registered. Wheats everywhere, tired of digging them could have many more. The barber dime is a 1913 S 510 k minted.

Sounds like a good spot. Lots of potential.

Congrats, two Barbers from a heavily hunted spot is fantastic!

Congrats on those Barber beauties and Wheats!
Way to sniff em out!!

If you give me the location I will gladly clean up those annoying wheat pennies for you.
dts

Its over dare lol

Nice getting a low mintage semi key Barber dime! Quarter too! Haircut ‘n a shave@

nice finds! way to go on pulling a couple of barbers out of a combed over spot. those are some sweet finds! were there a lot of nickel signals that you passed over? that's how it is at the spot I've been working on. I'm usually not a cherry picker, but the place is loaded with pull tabs and I end up passing them up. anyway, congrats on a good hunt!

you are truly a pro. watching and trying to learn.
Definitively not a pro, lol. Mostly luck. Both those barbers came from the same hole. One thing I have learned is go SLOW and only dig deep targets. Everything else is usually junk or clad. Went out the day after and found a merc and a rosie. Went out today and got skunked except for some wheates, Listen for the squeaks instead of looking at the numbers. Took some years to learn that.

Great stuff Congrats!

Good job those barbers are always welcome. nice two step !!!!!! Stay safe out there Tommy

Bringing this post back to life :) So I have vacation to burn so I have been getting back out, enjoying the time in the woods. Min bugs and nice colors. Not a bad day! Standing liberty, silver nickel, buff, rosie and or 8 or so wheats. Still have more vacation to use, will be getting back out, hopefully after a good rain. Typically I do not get into programming the detector. I will give it a whirl as this place is loaded with pull tabs. Plan to concentrate on the low VDIs.Capture14.GIFCapture.GIF

Nice! Looks like a crisp stander, war nick and rosie date on the buffalo?

The Buffalo is 1935, kind of toasty. I have been ignoring that range, will give it a try next time out.

Nice finds on both the early post and the new one! Whatdaya mean, "tired of digging wheats?" Tell me where it's at... please!
